Dia 2

A manhã foi passada a reflorestar a parte norte do vale (a menos rica) com pinheiros mansos. Foram apenas 6 mas aprendi técnicas de retenção de água, melhoramento do solo e convicência com outras espécies favoráveis. O Michael gosta de fazer pouco mas bem. Eu gosto da sua calma. Após um descanso ao sol, acompanhado sempre pelos gatos,  lavei a louça ao ar livre com água aquecida num forno solar e almoçámos cá fora – um luxo!

Fomos visitados por um casal holandês que anda à deriva a algum tempo mas agora esperam encontrar/formar uma comunidade para ficar. Gostam de Portugal e estão à espera da cegonha. Também com um curso em permacultura, ajudaram-nos a apanhar medronhos e ficaram para jantar. Na verdade eles estão a fazer um pouco do que eu desejo. Das muitas coisas interessantes que disseram, ficou-me os encontros Rainbow, em que já participaram em pelos menos 10 pela europa fora e de uma disciplina lecionada na conhecida comunidade de Findhorn na Escócia – Decisão Intuitiva – que não é mais que exercitar a decisão por intuição. Aliás, foi assim que chegaram até Portugal. Ah, e tirar um curso de permacultura. Eles convenceram-me que era importante.

No mato! / In the jungle!

The morning was spent reforesting the north part of the valley (less rich) with pine trees. Were only 6 but I learned skills of water retention, soil improvement and coexistence with other favorable species. Michael likes to do little but well. I like his calm. After a rest in the sun, always accompanied by cats, I washed the dishes at the outdoors with heated water in a solar mirror and we had lunch out there – what a luxury!
We were visited by a Dutch couple who go adrift for some time but now they hope to find / create a community to stay. They like Portugal and are waiting for the stork. Also with a course in permaculture, they helped us picking arbutus and stayed for dinner. In fact they are doing what I wish to. Of the many interesting things they said, I got the Rainbow gatherings, where they have participated in at least 10 along different countries in Europe and a discipline taught in the known community of Findhorn in Scotland - Intuitive Decision - which is no more than exercise decision by intuition. In fact, that's how they got to Portugal. Oh, and take a course in permaculture. They convinced me that it was important.
